Wonderful! Will this be your first child???

How much longer will you have to wait to know more certainly this wee one will be yours? (Exciting and anxious time, I'm sure.)

Please feel free to let us know more about you and your adoption journey that lies ahead!

Sincerely,

Linny

HI we have 2 grown daughters been fostering for about 5 yrs. my baby boy is my only one for now . Got a call last week tellling me dad wanted to surrender his rights thought that was going to be a long wait. Beleive it or not the next day cw called me back and he did it. yeah. now bm has never been around so they want her to surrender on her own and if not they will take it to the judge she has never been around at all . so we are so close just can't stand waiting to here more news she was supposed to come to the office last week and never showed. thanks for letting me vent

Ahhhh, you can ALWAYS vent here at Forever Parents! This is one of the great things about this site because it's private and we're able to discuss/vent/question what's going on in our lives and dealing with the system, agencies or attorneys! :thumup

Sounds like this is off to such a great start! I've known of few foster to adopt situations that come about from biologicals surrendering at any point. (Usually, they appeal even the most obvious orders to surrender.)

When you say that bm hasn't been around at all.....does that mean-never? Or, has she had some input early on and just sort of wandered off?
Just asking because I think you're very, very fortunate, indeed! :clap

Sincerely,

Linny

This sounds like a great thing then! I'm glad he came through the heart surgery well. :) Because bm never showed up and basically abandoned at the hospital, will your state take the initiative and terminate her rights, or will they draw it out for many months/years like IL is known to do?

Sincerely,

Linny

The foster to adopt forums section is within the private section of the board. While the section you're posting in now is open ONLY to those who've registered and introduced themselves, the other private forums are open to members who've posted and participated several times and/or are homestudy ready or into the homestudy part of their adoption journey.

We do this because Forever Parents is one of the few adoption boards (and maybe the only one) who IS private and allows us to discuss, vent, praise specific adoption attorneys/agencies and anything else that goes along with adoption. Please don't let this discourage you. We do this to protect our current members as well as those who've been on the board for years. This is why we set up the forums you have access to now: By registering and introducing yourself, we're able to get to know you and glean out any spammers while at the same time, we're able to discuss/answer any questions you may have about adoption or how it may relate to your specific situation. We sometimes have members who've not chosen an agency/attorney yet and they're simply curious about adoption. And, at the same time, we have members who have online journals with personal content; or have dealt with agencies/attorneys/birthpeople who've scammed them. These types of conversations are ones we want to protect within our private forums.

Again, please realize where you're posting now IS private, but read-able for anyone who's registered and introduced themselves. While you wait and participate with others here, feel free to ask any questions you may have about adoption and/or how it relates to your specific situation of adopting your little boy.

Sincerely,

Linny
