Your Adoption Connection: I'm currently going through my home study.
So, we now have an approved home study :banana We looked at the child availables website at the agency's office on Friday. Wow, we were surprised there were so little children. It took a while to get through the pages but I thought we would be there half the day looking. I realize some children are still trying to be reunited with their parents but some counties had no children to look at. Some of those kids are so darn cute! I had to read the biographies before I looked at the picture to stay focused after the third child. :smile

It is VERY easy to get distracted from the real issues of the child when you first look at their photos! I know what you're talking about! Have you talked with your worker about seeking out children from other counties or even other states? I work with Adopt America Network who does most of their work helping to place children in the system with permanent homes. It's true that most people are bound to find their kiddos in their own county or state, but some states are easier to work with than others in terms of 'sharing' their available children. I also know how mind-boggling it can be to seek out other states' resources and realize, "Hey! There are lots of kids in THAT state, why can't I have access to them too?"
Like I said, some states are better than others. (IL is NOT one of the better ones, IMO.)

Congrats on having an approved homestudy. You've overcome one enormous part of this process and one step closer to finding your child/baby!)

Sincerely,

Linny

We can look in the whole state of California but other states are not a part of the process unless we what to pay more money for an interstate compact.
