For those of you who did adoption without using an agency what avenues did you use to get the word out? My husband and I have created a website, but was wondering if there are any other ways to get the word out there. I know people used to place ads in newspapers but not as many people read them any more. I wasn't sure if it is even worth it to pursue that avenue.

I think placing an ad (where law allows) is as good as any advertisement. It certainly can't hurt? What about the networking your attorney may do? I know some states don't allow attorneys to network with other attorneys and their situations, but many states do. Going back to the newspaper......I think this might be a good option if you live near a college town. Even if you don't and there's one some distance away....the college newspaper could be a source.

Good luck!
