Your Adoption Connection: Adopted one child, waiting for second.
Hello!

I'm happy to have the opportunity to connect with other PAP on this site. My husband and I adopted our son, Evan, as a newborn in March, 2007. We restarted the process in 2009, but were quite frustrated after waiting for two years without a single promising lead. When it came time for our third home study renewal, we made the difficult decision to stop the process. We were unhappy with our agency and were be coming more and more comfortable as a family of three. As fate had it, we received word through a family member that a girl in their hometown was seeking adoptive parents for her child. Within weeks, we were sitting face to face with her and having a serious conversation about adoption. Now we're within days of having our home study approved, one week away from the birth, and beyond eager to bring this baby girl home!

Just a quick update - DD was born right on schedule on Feb. 5th. She is beautiful & healthy! DH and I were quite surprised when we were given our own room at the hospital so that she could "room in" with us. We hadn't even packed an overnight bag! I had the good fortune of being in the delivery room when she was born & also got to be the first to hold her. Everything went smoothly afterward. As soon as DD was discharged at 48hrs (standard procedure at this particular hospital), birthmom signed surrenders and we were good to go. Now I'm patiently waiting for ICPC & praying for a safe journey home.

WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!! How long is it expected to receive your ICPC clearance? Good luck! Keep us updated!

Sincerely,

Linny

Wow! That was quick. Hope the wait is short so you can get back home!
