Your Adoption Connection: My wife and I have attended MN agency seminars.
Hello! My wife and I live in Minnesota and are very excited at the prospect of adoption. We have gone down all sorts of infertility pathways over the last 4 years and have just started attending agency seminars here in Minnesota. We are finding the process of agency selection quite overwhelming as there are many to choose from. We have started by investigating those used by friends and acquaintances that have been successful or come recommended. Any other suggestions for us for finding an agency and not being frozen with decision paralysis would be helpful.

We would prefer to start our adoption experience domestically as we would like to adopt a newborn and also would like to adopt sooner than later. We are open to (and probably would prefer because of faster process and more kids in need of families) multiracial adoption. We would prefer to adopt from a state where the laws are more favorable to adoptive parents, Minnesota not being one of them. We would also prefer to adopt without disabilities for our first adopted child. We have also been coached to look for an agency that requires as little payment as possible before TPR is signed, especially for birthparent expenses. That's the short list for now, any other tips or things we should take into consideration, or recommedations for agencies are greatly appreciated!
